IN REGARDS TO LIFE, DIGITAL PHOTOGRAPHY
It’s interesting to me, people’s regards for animal life. Throughout all of history, humans have chosen to use animals at their disposal. To kill, to domesticate, to experiment on. These images of animal skeletons scorched by the heat were found in a ditch on the side of the road in some sort of dumping ground in surrounding Las Vegas desert. All of the bodies were killed off site, mutilated, disregarded. Juxtaposed amongst the images of dead animals are images of cemeteries also in the surrounding Las Vegas desert. All of the tombstones are endearingly arranged, visited and maybe even loved. All of the bodies rest at the bottom of the dry lakebed together.
I love death, I have a deep respect for the way decay nurtures the earth and provides nutrients for the next generation to grow. Animal , plant and human nutrients are all in our soil, used again and again to grow our food. Putting into our bodies again and again all of the suffering in the soil.
It feels the west has made great strides away from nature and compassion for animal, plant and human life alike.
