I CAN’T GO HOME, SILVER GELATIN PRINTS, BLACK THREAD & A TURN TAbLE

I grew up with my mother. My strong independent mother and her community of women. Growing up I was surrounded by Christianity. Though I never really felt connected to religion, I always felt a connection to the visual symbolism; candles, the cross, the flesh and blood. I started going to my aunt’s house where I became immersed in all things occult and she encouraged me to make art. I found the version of religion I was seeking.

This series goes a step further than previous works as I choose to create even more of a physical practice. Making space for my own hand to come through and for the viewer to use their hands as well.
